The next day, Friday, May 29, more good news—Dad was being transferred from the rehab hospital to a rehabilitation facility where he could work on regaining his strength after being in bed for two months. Once again the transfer took place the day Mom was notified. So that evening, Mom, their pastor, and a dear friend drove Mom to the rehab hospital to see Dad as he was transported. They waited at the doors for Dad to be wheeled out; he actually looked pretty good considering all he had been through. The women driving the transport vehicle were very kind and let Mom talk to Dad as much as they could.
Dad recognized Mom, his pastor, and his friend, which was a great sign! When his pastor said, “We’ve had a lot of people praying for you!” Dad responded, “That’s good because there were times I couldn’t really pray for myself.”
As God’s ways are always beyond our understanding, we had no idea why He worked so powerfully since Wednesday, especially after the heart-breaking start to the week, but we were so grateful. I loved Psalm 126:3, "The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy."
