In the Old Testament God is called the LORD of Hosts. He is the ruler of the armies of Heaven, and even more expansively, the ruler of the universe and the untold dimensions beyond. In Revelation He is declared King of Kings and Lord of Lords who will reign forever.
Out of the few people who worshipped the Christ Child, only the wisemen were in an economic position to give Him the gift deserving of a king—the gift of gold. As we look forward to Christmas, we can also look forward to the day when He returns, the King of Glory in all His splendor, no longer a baby, but the LORD of Hosts, King of Heaven crowned with gold, glory, and honor.
