Middle schoolers - You can be a fighter, not a victim
If you're in fourth grade or older, I know how hard it is to be bullied because often the bullying gets worse in middle school. You're at an age where it's easier to believe your peers than it is to believe adults who love you. But please remember this--the kids who make fun of you, who laugh at you, who think it's OK to physically hurt you--they are believing lies, too. They believe that they are important, special, and beautiful and that because of that they are allowed to judge and bully you. That is a lie! No one is allowed to look at you and say that you are worth being bullied. Their looks, money, or talents do not give them that privilege! I grew up believing it did, and I spent far too many years worrying about what other "better" people thought of me. I don't want YOU to make the same mistake.
I know it's easy to say, "Just don't listen to them" when you don't have a choice because you're trapped at school or in your neighborhood, but please believe me when I say, "At least don't believe them." They may spout whatever lies they want, unstopped even by your teachers and principal, but in the end, they won't really matter. You'll grow up, find good friends, and be loved by those who see you for who you truly are. School is not forever, even though it feels like it. Keep up your courage. Hold the truth close. And don't allow yourself to fall for the bullies' lies.
What Truth Warriors believe...
I deserve to be treated with dignity and worth.
Bullies will not rename me.
I never deserve to be bullied!
No bully is allowed to take away my dignity and worth. I will not let them get in my head!
